Following my last question about gout suspects, I’m also looking for reasons why doctors say that gout-like symptoms cannot be gout.

I’m doing this so when I launch my I Have Gout program, it will be more comprehensive, and help more people.

If you ever suspected gout, but was told it could not be, please share the reasons given. In my case, my doctor started a sentence with “I don’t think it is gout…” Up to that point, I had never suspected that my swollen ankle was gout. Then he continued “… but it’s your ankle, not your toe.” He was wrong – the rheumatologist confirmed I did have gout, because I had uric acid crystals in my ankle joint.

Why do you think doctors refuse to confirm gout?
