has anybody heard of this? i had gout back in 2009 that was misdiagnosed as a sprained ankle (no longer with that dr, lol). anyway, this may it hit again, with a vengance. i was seeing an ortho at the time so they started me on allopurinol. i have been on that ever since. i am also on colcrys and declofenac. i have been on all three for months now and eat no red meat, fish or seafood. i have my uric acid level down to 4.6 – i know that i still have pain even with a low level because of the existing crystals. but why are they still there after almost 6 months? has anybody ever heard of this before? i am seeing a rheumatoid arthritis specialist in a few weeks. thanks for any help or suggestions.also, i drink TONS of water! like,?worn a path to the bathroom lots!

thanks so much for your post. im not glad your in pain, but you are the first person i have talked to that has had it this long. does yours come and go? because mine does, but all in the same day. there is always some degree of pain, just its worse in the morning, etc. as in i can barely walk the first half hour or so. i really dont think its in my genes or caused by anything specific. just 10 years of completely insane eating and drinking and then a few years ago i got shin splints and stopped working out, gained a bunch of weight and then bam! this thing. this thing that i cannot describe to friends or relatives. none of them truly understand. they think if i prop it up i can come over or meet them for lunch any time without a fuss. at times i think i am almost more frustrated than anything else. again, thanks for your response. just these few posts have helped some. i appreciate this forum and hope you feel better soon.
