After my first blood test a week after my last flare up I have been on 100mg Allop and 500 mg of Probenicid. It's been three weeks and no flare ups. I just got the results back from a blood test last Thursday and my ua level was 5.5 and my cholesterol was 176.
Now I have cut back big time on drinking beer. I did have 6 micro brews two nights before my blood test though. My doctor told me to stay with the dose I am on. Does this sound about right? I have read on here that 100mg of Allop is too small. When I stop with the probenicid will they have to up my dose of Allop? Thanksmarkdeerhunter said:

Most people are normally on 300mg AlloP. 100mg is too low in most cases.
You are on low doses of both drugs, but the drugs work welll together. If you stop the probenecid, I recommend 300 mg. allopurinol. If you stop the allopurinol, about 1,000 mg. probenecid should be considered a minimum to keep you below 6.0 mg/dL uric acid.
