The gout cure you look for first is one that will relieve the agony.
Though it is vital, in the long term, to control uric acid, those treatments will not give the immediate gout pain relief that you need.
Whilst you wait for your uric acid treatment to get you to safe levels, you can look to the pain relieving treatments listed here.
This part of the Gout Treatment Section looks at medicines that reduce inflammation to relieve gout pain. Other pages in this section look at lowering uric acid to remove the cause of that pain.
Gout pain is due to inflammation that results when our immune system attacks uric acid crystals. Medicines to cure gout pain work by reducing that inflammation. As science discovers more knowledge of how our bodies react to uric acid crystals, new ways of fighting gouty arthritis inflammation are being developed. Individual responses to different gout treatments vary from person to person, so if you find that a particular gout pain remedy is not working for you, discuss some alternatives with your doctor.
